Rushed connections and incorrectly crushed crimps can lead to loops slipping and hook links breaking. Take the time and care to crimp properly and it’ll serve you well. Korda recommends that the Krimps are used only with Hybrid Stiff and Mouth Trap. It works perfectly with the latter. I haven’t tried the former but it also works with other stiff materials. Carry out tests prior to chucking a rig out to make sure that the materials and your crimping is up to standard. Do not use these with soft, coated braids because the braid simply slips through the coating.
Large, 0.7mm, and small, 0.6mm Krimps are available, but with 25lb Mouth Trap fitting through the small Krimps, I have little need for the larger size.
