Question: Hi guys, how can i stop all of my gear going mouldy, i have to keep all of my gear in my garage and have no where else to put it, i never put my gear away when its wet and every time i go to it its growing mould spots all over my bed, chair and my carry all etc, is there anything i can do to stop this? Many thanks. Martin Dalby

Advanced Carp Fishing says: This is a problem that a number of the ACF team have experienced and while we are yet to find an outright solution, there are a couple of things you can try to reduce how much mould grows and how quickly. The likely cause is that your garage is damp and so even though your gear is being put away dry, the environment is causing mould to grow, in particular on areas of material such as your luggage and bedchair. Try placing a groundsheet, or similar, on the garage floor, placing all of your kit on this and then covering the gear with a tarpaulin, plastic sheet or another groundsheet.

It’s worth giving your gear a clean too, making sure that no bait has been spilt on it or there’s any other muck that will encourage mould to grow.
