Let me introduce one of the most versatile bivvies on the market. In this case, the number of ways that this one bivvy can be set up defines versatility.
Okay, it’s a little heavier than most, but we nearly all use barrows now, don’t we? The extra weight comes from the multi-skin construction of the S7 and the weight of the quality skin material. In this one unit you have an inner mesh capsule, a secondary waterproof infill panel and an outer waterproof infill panel for extreme weather. The mesh capsule has been cleverly incorporated into the shelter and acts to eliminate condensation, as well as keep biting insects out in the summer. All three layers can be zipped in and out independently, making this a true all-weather shelter.
Nash has exclusive use of the intelligent skin material, which is called Aqua-Sense. It remains taut in hot, cold, wet and dry weather. As I mentioned, it’s a relatively heavy material, yet it’s super-strong and durable and has excellent insulation properties. I took the S7 out and set it up on the bank and it certainly is an impressive beast. I particularly liked the way that the roof has been sculpted to add height in the centre for a bit more headroom… perfect for taller guys like me, or the claustrophobics among us. As you’d expect, you literally get everything with these shelters, including a heavy-duty groundsheet, carry bag and T pegs. You could literally live in one of these all year round and no doubt some of you will!
