World Record Shattered - 08/02/2010
Solar Tackle boss Martin Locke has banked a new World Record carp from the famous Rainbow Lake in France.
The huge mirror, which thumped the scales round to a staggering 94lb, was the same fish that set Martin’s previous PB of 84lb. The new world best beats the previous record, jointly held by UK anglers Andre Kormonicki and Nick Greenhall. The pair both caught the Scarred Mirror from The Graviers fishery in Dijon. The two French venues continue to dominate the record books, having held the title between them for the last five years.
Fishing Peg 12 on the record-breaking lake, Martin banked the giant five days after casting the rod out. It fell to Solar Club Mix boilies, fished kebab style on a 12in Ton-Up hook link and prototype Solar Snag hook. Belgian superstar Alijn Danau and Rainbow owner Pascal Jousseaume witnessed the weighing, which ups the world best by 3lb. All at ACF congratulate Martin on a massive result, which comes after a long and dedicated campaign on the venue.
What’s next, a carp weighing over 100lb? We’re sure that it’s only a matter of time.
